That’s right we agreed on almost nothing. Nonetheless, we were the most friendly of adversaries. I first met Carlo when we were both LSE undergrads studying Econ History. He is amongst the most intelligent beings I have ever known. I only just today learned of his passing and the heartbreaking story behind it! I never knew of his illness. After graduating he was one of the few with whom I kept in touch with and would try to meet up whenever in London. The last time was 2010 and I was staying at the Dorchester and we met along with a couple of other Alumnus. I’d also invited an architect I was looking to hire to build my country villa and three corrupt politicians. I remember how he relished dissecting their viewpoints in classic Carlo style. I lost touch around 2012/13. So saddened by this, RIP my friend.
