When I was home alone in Lodi while my family was overseas, my neighbour family was taking good care of my wellbeing (best sandwiches ever). Hence, one day when I left Lodi to go back to London,   I left a message of thanks (that they jealously  treasured) on their mailbox:

Dear Pietro and Maria,

I would like to thank you, with the most sincere gratitude, for everything you have done for me during this wonderful Lodi’s summer. Thank you for your priceless “material” (food!) and, most important, psychological help you so kindly offered.
I truly hope of being able to soon pay off this debt.
My kind regards to you and your sons Paolo and Matteo.
